Cute Winter Gonk Christmas Decoration made from Yarn

I thought I'd share how I make my Winter Gonks. These make an ideal stocking filler at Christmas or could even be given in place of a card. They are simple to make using left over yarn and are so darn cute! I have intentionally not added any music to this video (I've had complaints about it!) Let me know if you think I should always leave out the music or if you think it adds something. I hope ...

The Singer 404g was the basic, straight stitch only member of the 400 series of sewing machines. Made in Germany in the Mid 1960s, the 404g boasted an aluminium body, full rotary hook mechanism and direct drive motor, similar to the 201. The 404g had Singer's slant shank design, to make the stitching point easier to see. I hope you enjoy this video and find it useful. if you do please give it a...

    Actually, on these machines you should put the bobbin in so the thread comes out in a clockwise direction. You pull the thread and the bobbin spin clockwise. The opposite of what is claimed in this video. Later on, with the plastic bobbins, they put a small mark on one side of the bobbin. That mark should always be turned out. When you wind the bobbin, you turn the mark out, when you put the bobbin in the holder, you turn the mark out.

    Hi thank you for your video, i’m wondering if you could answer a few questions, I have recently purchased one of these machines without the shuttle, i have bought one from eBay, the machine was sold as working well, however, I’m having difficulties getting the thread to pick up from the shuttle.. this is my second machine that I am working on, I’ve threaded up a shuttle before without difficulty, so could it be the wrong shuttle. It’s probably an obvious thing to know. But Could the wrong shuttle still fit, it came with a mixture of bobbins, some with a hole some with not, How do you know if you have a faulty shuttle, Thank you for your time. Regards Sue

    • @CurioByBSpokeDesigns
      @CurioByBSpokeDesigns 5 днів тому

      Without seeing it, it is difficult to say, but I would guess that it’s the wrong shuttle. I would look to see if the thread is going around the shuttle which may indicate if the timing is out. It could be something as simple as a bad needle. Or the needle not being in correctly.

    Hi, I know that this is an old video, but if I'm really lucky you might be the be able to help. I have a Husqvarna Automatic 21E sewing machine, and I would very much like to have a buttonholer to go with it. What buttonholer would be compatible with mine, please? Can I use a Singer one that is made to go with zig-zag sewing machines do you think? Around my part of the planet, even the people that service my machine doesn't know about buttonholer, they are that rare. I've seen a fair lot of them (more than 10) made by Greist, but many more by/for Singer. With hopes of an answer, yours, Ann

Father and son matching shirts, etc. She made me a double breasted suit coat and you couldn't tell it WASN'T a professionally made coat. She ordered custom labels for all her creations and perfectly sewed them in. She had used her Mother's treadell Singer and Dad bought her the NECCHI, back in the 1950's. I was super young and don't remember the year. My grandson played around it and has done something with the CAM CASE. I haven't been able to find it. I got the info, off the back base of her machine, and punched it in on UA-cam and your site was the first one that popped up. That was Her machine. Same color, even. You showed how to fill the bobbin and how to thread it and how to sew with it, and how to use the cam box and cams and the Button Hole cam. You even showed how to use the cams for embroidery stitching. I thank God I found this video !!! THANK YOU!!!

    I've found a lot of the affordable polymer clays, Mont marte being the one I have access to easiest, are sticky and overly soft. I started with Mont marte figuring it'd be good practice for when I could afford the Fimo and Premo, but it was so soft and tacky the skills I needed to use it were often irrelevant when using better clays unless I had done something like adding too much liquid clay.
